OUR HISTORY
- 2000: Innovaderm started as a clinical research unit focused on dermatology.
- 2004: We partnered with research centers in the US and Canada to offer access to more high-quality dermatology sites.
- 2007: We expanded to include Clinical Research Organization (CRO) services, combining full-service CRO with expert clinical sites.
- Present: Innovaderm continues to be one of leading Clinical Research Units in Canada. Our CRO business unit, which has recently rebranded to Indero, also manages studies focusing on both dermatology and rheumatology.
- Innovaderm continues to operate as a Clinical Research Unit for dermatology studies.

CATHERINE MAARI, MD, FRCPC
Investigator & Dermatologist
Dr. Catherine Maari received her medical degree from McGill University in Montreal. She completed her dermatology residency training at the University of Montreal (UdeM) and her postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric dermatology at the University of California in San Diego. Dr. Maari is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at UdeM. She also practises dermatology at its teaching hospital (CHUM) and at Saint-Justine Hospital. Dr. Maari has been affiliated with Innovaderm’s CRU since 2003. For the past two decades, she has played a key role in many clinical studies on psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne and facial wrinkles.
ÉTIENNE SAINT-CYR PROULX, MD, FRCPC
Investigator & Dermatologist
Dr. Étienne Saint-Cyr Proulx earned his medical degree at McGill University in Montreal. He completed his dermatology residency training at the University of Montreal and is currently associated with the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital in Laval. Dr. Saint-Cyr Proulx joined Innovaderm’s CRU in 2015. To date, he has collaborated on numerous clinical trials for different indications such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne, and actinic keratosis.
ROBERT BISSONNETTE, MD, FRCPC
Founder, Investigator & Dermatologist
Dr. Robert Bissonnette earned his medical degree at the University of Montreal (UdeM). He completed his dermatology residency training at UdeM and his clinical research training at McGill University and the University of British Columbia. Dr. Bissonnette served as an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Montreal until 2004. A key opinion leader and frequent participant in podium presentations at national and international conferences, Dr. Bissonnette has published more than 270 articles and book chapters on different aspects of dermatology. He has also conducted nearly 200 studies and is internationally renowned for his clinical expertise in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
