Associate Director, Patient Recruitment

This is the opportunity for you! Innovaderm is creating a patient recruitment department and we are looking for a dynamic and resourceful individual to lead this department.


Your role will be to establish the new Patient Recruitment Department within the organization. You will report to the VP Project Management and your responsibilities will include:

  • Development and management of Clinago, Innovaderm’s newly launched web-based recruitment platform
  • Implementation of novel recruitment strategies using electronic medical records, claims databases, partnerships with key investigator sites and partnerships with various organizations with access to patients interested by clinical research
  • In collaboration with business analysts, design an easily searchable repository of recruitment data for all previous studies and ongoing studies managed by Innovaderm as well as studies in the same indications managed by other CROs
  • Development of country-specific general (non-study specific) recruitment strategies for all countries, outside North America, where Innovaderm is managing clinical trials
  • Assisting the business development group with recruitment strategies for proposals and bid defenses
  • Proposing and testing as many novel and innovative ideas as you can imagine to recruit patients !     




More specifically, the Associate Director, Patient Recruitment will:

  • supervise the daily activities of the department which includes:
  • development of study-specific recruitment strategies, tracking of enrollment in ongoing studies, implementation (in collaboration with project managers) of contingency plans for studies that are not meeting recruitment objectives,
  • management of external recruitment vendors, advertisement placement, preparation of reports for upper management and making sure recruitment strategies are meeting sponsor compliance guidelines and are delivered on time and within budget





  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or health-related discipline or in a field relevant to clinical research
  • Specialized graduate diploma in drug development is an asset



  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in global patient recruitment in clinical research and in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and/or CRO industry


 Skills and knowledge

  • Proficiency in English (written and oral) is required
  • Knowledge of another language (French or Spanish) would be considered as an asset
  • Excellent knowledge and competency in Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines
  • Quick learner, good adaptability and versatile
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Good knowledge of good clinical practices, and applicable Health Canada and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations/guidelines

Work location

The successful candidate for this position is given the option to work from home anywhere in Canada or the US or from our headquarters in Montreal (in accordance with company policies and public health directives). US-based candidates may also be considered.

Visits to our Montreal headquarters will be required.  

Occasional travel, which may include overnight trips and / or international travel may be required as part of this role for candidates in all locations, including Montreal.
