Business Expansion Manager / Director (Germany)


In collaboration with the Executive-Vice-President Europe Expansion, you will drive the expansion of Innovaderm in Europe, with a focus on Germany and nearby target countries.

Working closely with local and global operational teams, you will be called upon to identify and develop relationships with clinical research sites, Key Opinion Leaders, freelance professionals as well as local CRO partners. The knowledge you gather will contribute significantly to decision-making and priorities-setting related to Innovaderm’s expansion.

An expert on your assigned market, you will be a key asset to promote the capabilities of this region internally and externally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Gathering and analyzing market intelligence

  • Drive the mapping process: analyze relevant market information such as the presence of KOLs, disease prevalence, standard of care practices, access to new drugs, site recruitment potential, patient populations, availability, and any other region-specific requirements
  • Proactively gather and report information about opportunities for development within the region. Provide recommendations and paths to follow
  • Assess the potential of countries within the region to participate in new studies and studies at the feasibility stage
  • Gather and share information about prospective vendors, partners, and potential contractors and employees in the target region 
  • Evaluate risks related to development within specified markets
  • Formulate and present recommendations related to the target region to Innovaderm European and global leadership as needed
  • Gather and analyze information used to support patient recruitment performance in the target region
  • Evaluate and recommend specific regional marketing activities and participation at industry meetings
  • Monitor relevant industry news in the region (competitive activity, M&As). Identify gaps in service offerings in Europe.

 

Business relationships

  • Interact with key investigators and KOLs to develop durable relationships that will help the region evaluate new opportunities, provide solid feasibility assessment, and ensure collaboration of key sites in the recruitment of our trials
  • Attend and represent Innovaderm at regional trade shows, conferences, and other networking events. 
  • Work with Business Development to identify potential sponsors in the targeted region and support the presentation of Innovaderm CRO capabilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key local vendors and partners
  • Provide insight to Innovaderm’s management about the best business practices in the target region

 

IDEAL PROFILE

 

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • A master's degree is an asset

 

Experience 

  • Minimum of 12 years experience in clinical research in the CRO industry, including experience and excellent understanding of CRO operational and financial drivers

 

Knowledge and skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the target region; business context, clinical research industry, competitive landscape, development potential
  • Excellent command of English (written and oral communication)
  • Excellent command of German (written and oral communication)
  • Professional working proficiency or higher in additional languages may be an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A demonstrated entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Knowledge of dermatology clinical research is an asset
  • Knowledge of good clinical practices, and applicable regulations

Work location

Note that this opening is for a home-based position in Germany

Regular travel, which may include overnight trips and / or international travel is required as part of this role.
