Marketing Director
The Marketing Director is responsible to drive alignment, consistency and excellence through all marketing processes and projects. They will offer strategic and developmental insight to drive marketing best practices and tools across departments.
In addition, they will manage and direct a marketing team consisting of managers and specialists.
The Marketing Director is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s marketing business plan, establishing accountability and identifying solutions to resolve problems

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee, hire, mentor, train, manage and evaluate all members of the marketing team.
- Develop a marketing strategy that aligns and supports the organization’s strategic goals and growth objectives (value proposition, positioning, etc.) by target audience (sponsors, patients, investigator sites and employees).
- Identify marketing goals and develop tools to track and measure success.
- Create and develop a communication plan to drive awareness and excellence with internal and external stakeholders (sponsors, patients, investigator sites and employees).
- Review and remain abreast of changes and developments in the CRO industry including competitive analysis, marketing best practices, etc.
- Manage execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that include support materials such as presentations, email, video, websites, sales tools, etc.
- Develop and support the implementation of the multi-year corporate brand planning process.
- Manage the budget necessary for the deployment of the marketing and communication strategies.
- Provide innovative solutions to help identify new marketing opportunities and process improvements.
- Lead internal cross functional teams and other 3rd parties (agencies, vendors) to facilitate on time, on quality and on strategy campaigns.
- For each key target audience (sponsors, patients, investigator sites) ensure the experience is at the heart of brand planning
- Ensure the sharing and adoption of best demonstrated practices.
- Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external guidelines and regulations. Ensure team members understand and fully comply with compliance requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Employee may be assigned to other responsibilities that do not pertain to their former description, if they have the required experience, are qualified and/or have received adequate training
IDEAL PROFILE
Education
- University degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field Bachelor’s
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in B2B Marketing-Communication, including at least 3 years in a leadership position
- Relevant business experience with a proven track record within the CRO / biotech / pharmaceutical industry related to patient recruitment, site preferred network and/or B2B
Knowledge and skills
- Strong understanding and experience in marketing and/or business development
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated business analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken. French is a strong asset
- Ability to see the big picture by bringing together different ideas
- Proven ability to work with multiple priorities that require strong decision-making capabilities
- Can act as a mentor to the internal marketing team with social media campaigns and patient acquisition initiatives
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks)
- Good knowledge of good clinical practices, and applicable Health Canada and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations/guidelines
