Junior Project Financial Analyst, India

About The Position

The Junior Project Financial Analyst will support the financial oversight of projects in collaboration with project teams and finance department to provide accurate and timely financial information to the management team of the company


More specifically, the Junior Project Financial Analyst must:


Project and budget set-up

  • Review and understand the client agreements
  • Create and configure projects in the project management and financial systems
  • Prepare the data for the upload of project budget and related amendments impacting scope and/or timeline in the project management tool
  • Maintain study configuration pertaining any operational structure change (including but not limited to; new cost/profit center, team movement)

Revenue / Expenses recognition and project reconciliation

In collaboration with the operations team and as per month end schedule:

  • Participate in the revenue recognition process ensuring information provided by project team is submitted on time and accurate as per Canadian GAAP
  • Ensure project expenses are recognized as per Canadian GAAP and contractual requirements (including creation journal entries for accruals and project allocation)
  • Monitor and report large revenues and expenses variances compared to budget and forecast
  • Track profitability analysis by project and other parameters
  • Monitor balance sheet accounts of projects
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records of project data

Invoice management

  • Review project invoicing and provide expertise as needed
  • At the end of the study, ensure all invoices were produced and paid

Process improvement and special projects

  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for operations or finance team
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of improved financial processes and tools
  • Employee may be assigned to other responsibilities that do not pertain to their former description, if they have the required experience, are qualified and/or have received adequate training.

Requirements

PROFILE


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience


Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting
  • Power BI experience is an asset


Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Professional judgment and proven interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of the tools of the Microsoft Windows Suite (i.e., Excel)
  • Comfortable working in an environment in constant evolution
