In 2000, Innovaderm began its activities as a clinical research site specialized in dermatology. Innovaderm has quickly built a strong reputation for the quality of its clinical research, the achievement of subject enrollment objectives and the care offered to its study participants.
In 2004, Innovaderm initiated strategic partnerships with research centers in the United States and Canada to offer its sponsors access to other high-quality dermatology sites. Since then, Innovaderm has built an excellent database of collaborating sites in North America.
In 2007, Innovaderm expanded its activities to include Clinical Research Organization (CRO) services for studies in dermatology. Our company offers a unique combination of a full-service CRO with advanced scientific capabilities and expert clinical site network.
Innovaderm is internationally renowned for its numerous research studies on psoriasis, acne and atopic dermatitis as well as for studies involving biologics and photodynamic therapy (PDT). Over 64% of our team comes from a life sciences background and over 55% has a postgraduate degree (Master, PhD and MD).
Our Executive Team
Robert Bissonnette, MD, FRCPC
Founder and CEO
Dr. Robert Bissonnette is the chief executive officer and medical director at Innovaderm, a company he established in 2000. For more than 20 years, Dr. Bissonnette has dedicated his efforts towards the advancement of dermatology research. Dr. Bissonnette has conducted nearly 200 studies ranging from proof-of-concept to phase III studies. As a Key Opinion Leader, he has extensive knowledge of clinical dermatology, clinical research, the dermatology market and is a great asset to our clients as he is able to offer a large perspective in the dermatology research field. He published more than 140 articles and book chapters and gives lectures on various aspects of dermatology at various national and international meetings. After graduating in Medicine from the University of Montreal, he completed his residency training in dermatology at the University of Montreal and his clinical research training at McGill University and the University of British Columbia. Dr. Bissonnette is a board-certified dermatologist and was an associate professor of dermatology at the University of Montreal until 2004. He is regularly solicited to participate on advisory board meetings for his expert opinion on clinical product development. Dr. Bissonnette is internationally renowned for his clinical expertise in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
Jasmina Jankicevic, MD, MSc, CCRP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Jasmina Jankicevic is a key opinion leader in the field of dermatology drug/device development and medical affairs. Since 2004, she has headed global clinical development and medical strategy in dermatology and medical aesthetics for CROs, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and cosmetic companies including Premier Research, Allergan, Leo Pharma, and Murad. Over the years, Dr. Jankicevic’s work has led to the implementation of 300+ clinical study protocols for more than 20 different medical and cosmetic dermatology indications. As a leader and mentor, serving on global cross-functional teams, she has shared her expertise on the fundamentals of successful regulatory submissions, product launches, and prosperous lifecycle management, while inspiring innovation in therapeutic solutions for both common and rare skin diseases, and aesthetic conditions. Dr. Jankicevic holds a Doctor of Medicine, Master of Medical Sciences, and board-certification in dermatology and venereology from the University of Belgrade in Serbia. Additionally, she is a renowned keynote speaker, trained journalist, and the author of 150+ articles in peer-reviewed and trade journals.
Chief Operating Officer
Dave Selkirk serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Innovaderm, overseeing the CRO functions of Project Management, Clinical Operations, Biometrics, and Scientific Affairs, along with the CRU business unit which recruits and treats patients in-house for both early and later stage trials. Dave joined Innovaderm in March 2021 to lead our operational teams through significant growth. Dave is a seasoned industry executive with 29 years experience in pharmaceutical research. He has drug development expertise spanning Pre/Non-Clinical Research, Central and Specialty Labs, all phases of Clinical Research, Post-Approval and Market Access, as well as multiple modalities of Clinical Trial Technology. Prior to joining Innovaderm, Dave was the Founder and CEO of WhiteChurch Pharma & Biotech Consulting. For roughly two decades, he was employed at Covance in roles of increasing responsibility in Project Management, Business Unit Leadership with P&L responsibility, Strategy & Planning, and Alliance Management. Mid-way through his tenure at Covance, Dave worked for a little over a year as Vice President Alliance Management at Parexel.
Chief Business Officer
Jason Shuris served as Innovaderm’s Vice President of Business Development from 2018-2021. Following a short leave, he returned to Innovaderm in August 2022 as Chief Business Officer. Jason oversees the sales and marketing activities at the organization. In addition, he plays a key role in strategy planning and execution. Jason began his career in finance, occupying different roles in the accounting departments of privately held hospitals in Boston. He then worked in the life sciences sector as the controller at several biotechnology companies before entering the CRO industry in 2011. To date, he has held various leadership positions at ophthalmology- and dermatology-focused CROs. Jason holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Bentley University (MA). He currently resides in Central Massachusetts with his family
Chief Financial Officer
Stephane Lussier recently joined Innovaderm and is now acting as Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities include management of external and internal accounting, financial reporting, financial planning & analysis and tax. Stephane joined Innovaderm with more than 20 years of leadership experience in finance and operation roles in various industries in both medium and large businesses. Prior to joining Innovaderm, Stephane served as Senior director of finance in the aeronautic industry, managing the finance of the Canadian business unit of a large publicly traded company based in the USA. Stephane holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UQAM university. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-CMA).
VP, Human Resources
Yvon Leduc joined recently Innovaderm as Vice-President, Human Resources. His responsibilities oversee responsibilities to enhance and develop the human resources strategies, functions, programs and team culture while establishing short-term and long-term goals for the department and fostering a diverse workplace that enables all employees to contribute to the organization at their full potential. Yvon joined Innovaderm with more than 25 years of leadership experience in human resources and labors within highly regulated industry such as the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Innovaderm Yvon served as Senior Director human resources for a pharmaceutical company managing all aspect of human resources for two business unit in Canada of a global integrated pharmaceutical. Yvon holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations from the Montreal University. He is also CPHR Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Quebec.
VP, Process Improvement
Guillaume Gigon joined Innovaderm in 2018 and is now Vice President, Process Improvement. Prior to joining Innovaderm, Guillaume was holding different positions including managing director in a large CRO. He has over 15 years of experience in the clinical trial and biomedical industries including project management, validation and management. Guillaume holds a master’s degree in biochemical analysis, a DESS in Information Technology and multiple certifications including Certified CSTB Tester, LSS Green Belt and Portfolio Management.
Anne Marie Gaulin
Anne Marie Gaulin is responsible for overseeing corporate strategies at Innovaderm. Anne Marie joined Innovaderm as a director of business development in 2009. Since then, Anne Marie has contributed to the success and growth of the company by managing sales, marketing, the recruitment center, the CRO operations, the commercial development and she is also responsible for strategic planning. Her knowledge of dermatology clinical trials and more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a great asset to our clients. Prior to joining Innovaderm, Anne Marie held a business development position at Cirion Biopharma, a central laboratory located in the Montreal area, an Operational management position at Alcan packaging, a company specialized in the packaging of pharmaceuticals and different sales and marketing positions in the pharmaceutical industry, including Rhône-Poulenc Rorer, now Sanofi and Sandoz Consumer Health, a division of Novartis.
