Scientific Capabilities

Innovaderm conducts safety and efficacy studies in dermatology. Some involve systemic compounds while others involve topical compounds.

Examples of studies that use systemic compounds are:

  • Pharmacokinetic (PK) / Pharmacodynamic (PD)
  • Mechanism of Action with skin biopsies and biomarkers
  • Trials with or without confinement
  • Single Ascending Dose (SAD) / Multiple Ascending Dose (MAD)

Examples of studies that use topical compounds are:

  • Patient-controlled design
  • Trials involving application of compound on site
  • Trials related to irritation, sensitization, phototoxicity and photoallergy
  • PK and PD
  • Maximum-Usage Trial
  • Dose-finding
  • Mechanism of Action with skin biopsies/PD markers and other dermatology assessments
  • Photodamage and hyperpigmentation
  • Psoriasis plaque testing
  • Atopic dermatitis plaque testing
  • Tape stripping
  • Skin penetration

We also perform non-invasive valuations of a study’s Therapeutic Effects. Among the procedures we use:

  • Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL)
  • Skin sebum measurement via Sebumeter® and Sebutape®
