Junior Project Financial Analyst


The Junior Project Financial Analyst has for objective to track and report on the profitability of projects to ensure the financial performance of the company and a high quality of clinical research project management services.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

More specifically, the Junior Project Financial Analyst must:

Contract / Project set-up

  • Review the client agreements 
  • Update the status of activities according to the progression of project

 

Revenue / Expenses recognition and project reconciliation

In collaboration with the operations team:

  • Apply revenue recognition principle on a monthly basis, calculate project revenues and its forecasts, and analyze revenue transactions for validity and accuracy
  • Monitor and report on significant variances in revenues and expenses measured against budget and forecast
  • Consolidate the revenue forecast of the projects on a monthly basis
  • Produce profitability analysis by project and other parameters

 

Project reconciliation

  • Once the projects are coming to an end, proceed with the final reconciliation of the costs incurred and ensure that all invoices were produced and paid
  • Produce financial report of projects

 

Invoice management

  • Review project invoicing and provide expertise as needed
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients on any questions related to the invoicing

 

Internal presentations and special projects

  • Provide a finance expertise to the operations and finance team
  • Produce monthly presentations for the management (including, but not limited to; backlog analysis, efficiency, ETC, revenue composition)
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis
  • Participate in financial special projects such as the implementation of an ERP

 

PROFILE

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience
  • CPA designation is an asset, but not required (open to CPA students)

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting
  • Power BI experience is an asset

 

Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Professional judgment and proven interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of the tools of the Microsoft Windows Suite (i.e., Excel)
  • Comfortable working in an environment in constant evolution
